Discover yourself, find love
DateWise NYC
A 12-week therapeutic group for dating with intention. Sharpen your relational skills with real people, real time. Reflect, Practice, Connect.
We offer structured, skills-based groups for individuals motivated to find connection
DateWise NYC is a unique therapy group for adults in New York who want to build confidence, clarity, and connection in their dating lives. Led by a licensed therapist with expertise in relational dynamics, attachment theory and couples therapy, this group offers a supportive, co-ed environment to explore how your past is shaping your present — and to practice showing up differently in the future.
This group is for you if you’re:
Unsure how to express deeper needs early on—afraid of scaring someone away
Struggling to tell the difference between real compatibility and fleeting chemistry
Tired of wasting time on mismatches, confusion, or situationships
Emotionally fatigued from dating apps and conversations that go nowhere
Doubting your own judgment: “Why do I keep attracting the wrong people?”
Quiet shame or self-judgment: “I’m successful in everything else—why can’t I figure this out?”
What makes this group different?
It’s not just talk — it’s practice.
You won’t just learn about dating skills or attachment theory. You’ll get the rare opportunity to practice relational tools in real time, with group members of different genders, while receiving live guidance and feedback from a therapist.
It’s rooted in depth psychology and skills-building.
You’ll explore your formative experiences and attachment style — and how they may be influencing who you’re drawn to, how you protect yourself, or why you might self-sabotage. You’ll also get concrete tools to name your needs, set boundaries, and build emotional safety with others.
It bridges insight and real-world experience.
Between sessions, you’ll receive thoughtful assignments designed to help you try new behaviors outside of the group — like how to spot a secure connection, how to communicate more vulnerably, or how to recognize your own red/yellow flags.
You Will:
Understand your attachment style and relational patterns
Recognize what’s blocking connection
Identify your true values and non-negotiables
Communicate needs and boundaries with clarity and warmth
Practice dating skills in a safe, supportive setting
Practice emotional and communication skills
Receive real-world assignments to apply your learning
Reflect with a supportive, like-minded group
Be encouraged to go on one date per week and grow in real time

Below are some of the most common questions we've received about the 12-Week Dating Experience. We’ve created this Q&A to give you clarity, transparency, and support as you consider joining.
-
This group is for NYC-based heterosexual professionals who are ready to invest in their personal life and explore dating in a more intentional, structured, and therapeutic way. You should be open to reflection, community, and growth.
-
To create an intentional balance and structure, this round of the group is designed specifically for heterosexual individuals (straight-identifying men and women). We are deeply mindful and respectful of all identities. We plan to run future groups tailored to LGBTQIA+ participants. If you're interested, please let us know—we would love to hear from you and will notify you when the next cohort is planned.
-
The group is intentionally designed to build momentum week-by-week. It’s normal to feel some resistance at the beginning—growth often begins in discomfort. Staying for the full 12 weeks allows your nervous system to adapt, your connections to deepen, and your insights to fully take root. We’re building a community, and each member matters.
This experience is designed to be cumulative: each week builds on the last, both in skills and in connection. When you commit fully, you give yourself the chance to rewire outdated patterns and experience deeper clarity. Your consistent presence also supports the group as a whole—we’re building a community, and that community grows stronger when everyone is in it together.
For those who need additional support, we offer optional 1:1 sessions throughout the program. This is a healing, therapeutic journey—and consistency is key. We promise it’s worth it.
-
We understand that life happens. While we encourage full attendance, we ask that you let us know in advance if you’ll miss a session. Due to the nature of the group, refunds or partial credits cannot be provided for missed sessions.
-
Participants of this group have access to special pricing for 1:1 sessions with the group facilitator. These sessions are 45–60 minutes and available for $150 (normally $250).
